Gallus lafayetii, or Ceylon Jungle fowl is endemic to Sri Lanka. The Ceylon Jungle fowl is the national bird of Sri Lanka, where it is found anywhere between sea level to mountainous forests. Even though well established in it's native area, the Ceylon Jungle fowl is only sparsely found in aviculture in the US. As with the Green Jungle fowl, the Ceylon requires heavily planted aviaries that require heat in the cold winter months. A properly balanced diet in combination with suitable housing makes the Ceylon Jungle fowl a sure success.
