Bird Description:
Gallus Varius, or Green Jungle fowl is native to Java, Bali and Indonesia. The Green Jungle fowl is a strikingly beautiful bird, that even though common in its native area, has not been well established in aviculture in the US. It's beautiful, iridescent plumage and the extraordinarily colored comb and wattle make it a treat to see in any aviary. However they are not easily kept, as they require a well planted aviary with lots of foliage for them to hide in. In cold climates they need to be kept indoors in heated pens.
